Fat Dissolving Treatments
Fat Dissolving Treatment
At CURVZ, we are pleased to offer fat dissolving treatments, a non-invasive alternative to liposuction for targeted fat removal. The procedure effectively addresses stubborn fat in areas such as the chin, stomach, thighs and buttocks, even when diet and exercise have been unsuccessful. Our specially formulated solution is injected into the targeted area, where it breaks down fat, allowing the body to naturally eliminate it.
HOW DOES FAT DISSOLVING TREATMENTS WORK?
The fat-dissolving treatment involves injecting a specialised solution into targeted areas of fat. The key ingredient, deoxycholic acid, which is naturally found in the body, helps to break down fat cells. Once injected, this acid emulsifies the fat, causing the fat cells to rupture. The disrupted fat cells are then naturally processed and removed by the body’s lymphatic system and liver. The treatment not only reduces fat but also tightens the skin, leading to a more contoured and toned appearance.
WHAT DOES THE TREATMENT INVOLVE?
You will be required to undertake a consultation where you’ll have a detailed discussion with our practitioner. We’ll explain the product we’re using, including its short-term and long-term effects, potential risks and side effects. You’ll then have time to think things over and ask any questions you might have before deciding whether to move forward with the treatment. Treatment can be performed after your consultation or we can schedule you in for another time.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED? / HOW LONG WILL THE RESULTS LAST?
Treatments can then be repeated every 2 to 3 months until all the small pockets of fat are reduced. Treatments can be administered between 2 to 8 times. The number of treatments you’ll need is going to depend on the number of fat deposits you would like to target.
FAT DISSOLVING TREATMENTS CAN BE USED ON THE FOLLOWING AREAS:
– Stomach (inc. six pack definition)
– Love handles
– Arms
– Chin
– Flanks and waist
– Inner and outer thighs
– Underarms and armpits
PRE AND POST CARE INFORMATION
If you have decided to proceed with this treatment please be advised that effects of fat-dissolving include swelling, bruising and pain in the treated area. These effects can last up to six weeks post-treatment. You may need to take paracetamol to manage the pain. It’s recommended to avoid taking anti-inflammatory medications like aspirin and Ibuprofen. These medications can stop the body from responding well to the treatment.
Within the first day or two, any swelling is going to double in size. Over the next 7 days, the swelling will go down. In some rare cases this is going to take longer. Swelling is a good indicator that your body is responding to the treatment.
For the first 48 hours post-treatment, the area that was treated is going to look red and feel warm. It’s common to experience some bruising, itching, and fairly minor aches and pains. For up to a month, the skin in the area that was treated is going to feel numb. In rare cases there are symptoms such as hyperpigmentation, diarrhoea and nausea. Women may experience intracycle menstruation as a side-effect of the treatment. In spite of these effects, you will be able to resume your regular routine a few days after the treatment is complete. We recommend that you avoid resuming your exercise regime for the first 5 days post-treatment. Eating a low calorie, healthy diet helps to increase the treatment’s effectiveness. This can help you to benefit in the long term. When required, a referral to a dietician is advised to provide you with the support you need to keep the weight off. We would like to see you again in a month to 6 weeks to review the treatment and to plan additional treatments when needed. Ensure that you remain well hydrated after your treatment. A low-fat diet is important so that you put less stress on your liver as it processes the fat which is being broken down. After treatment, you can resume gentle exercise when you feel able.
