Venus Versa IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) for Face and Body Hair Removal
IPL hair removal is a progressive treatment that offers full body hair removal – but you can use IPL to treat separate areas, such as your arms, legs, or pubic area, depending on your individual needs. Hair removal systems utilise photothermolysis – this involves targeting the pigment concentrated in the hair follicle, but not the dermis – this makes IPL a safe and effective treatment for permanent hair reduction. The Venus Versa™ is a light-based technology that eliminates unwanted hair on the face and body. By precisely targeting and destroying hair follicles beneath the skin, it stops their growth, resulting in flawlessly smooth, hair-free skin.
WHAT DOES THE TREATMENT INVOLVE?
During your IPL treatment a cool gel is applied to the skin and you will be given goggles to protect your eyes. A hand piece is placed on your skin and pulses of light are emitted to treat the skins imperfection. Immediately after treatment the area reddens and may feel like sunburn for 2-12 hours. After the treatment you therapist will give you a soothing gel to apply to the treated area. As the hair grows you will notice it will visibly start to fall out.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?
Most clients receive 6-10 treatments per area 4-5 weeks apart. The exact number will depend on each individual person and the area being treated.
HOW LONG WILL THE RESULTS LAST?
The results from IPL are permeating but it recommended to have maintenance sessions to keep hair growth away. Every clients results will vary according to their lifestyle and hormone changes.
WHO CAN HAVE THIS TREATMENT?
IPL is not suitable for dark skin types or clients with white/red hair. This treatment is also not suitable to have during pregnancy (fine while breastfeeding). IPL is not suitable for those who have open wounds, infection, rosacea, psoriasis or dermatitis in the area to be treated.

PRE AND POST CARE INFORMATION
Do not expose the area to waxing, plucking or threading for at least 8 weeks and/or between treatments.
Do not expose the area to UV or self tan for at least 4 weeks before the treatment and/or between IPL treatments.
Do not use creams or perfumed products on the area.
Shave the area before your sessions.
After the treatment avoid sun exposure, excessive sweating, hot showers, steam rooms or saunas.
Ensure to reapply soothing lotion as needed or recommend by your therapist.
